What is a CSA
A CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is a share that the buyer (that’s you) purchases in the beginning of the season before the growing season starts. Traditionally, members also shares the risk that is associated with farming and poor harvests due to weather, insect damage, or disease. In return of your investment, you will receive an abundant supply of weekly vegetables and herbs, recipe ideas, friendships, and knowing what went into growing your produce. It will also support your local economy and help up in being good stewards of our precious land.
How our CSA works
We will begin to offer CSA boxes this year to the local community. We will also have individual items on our storefront for you to order as well, and of course you can always come see us at the Bartlett Station Farmers Market in Bartlett, TN, Lightfoot Farm Farmers Market in Millington, TN, and at Bachermann’s in Whiteville, TN. Please check out the link above to order. We do not have a pick up at this time, but can bring boxes to any of the markets we attend.
Once the season starts growing well and we have plenty to offer, we will include the CSA boxes at the Farmers Markets we attend if requested. Our’s is a little bit different than the typical CSA share. We have a small, large, and family size box that are fully customizable. You have the options to choose from the drop-down lists what you want in them with the options that are available each week. The goal here is to provide our customers with the items they want instead of something they will not eat. We also do not require a subscription. We would rather give the customer the ability to order each week. Our boxes are a great option for savings. They are more cost effective and offer more product than buying each vegetable individually and you will typically get more items or amounts.
Weather permitting, we will start in May (or earlier is the weather allows) with seasonal vegetables such as radish, lettuce, spring onions, and more.
What is in my box?
The vegetables you will find in your box…well is up to you. We wanted to customize each box and offer you what you wanted. So, if you don’t want the radish’s, then you can double up on another vegetable. It’s all up to you or you can let us surprise you., we’ll give you a good mix. We will have the traditional veggies, such as tomatoes, peppers, onions, squash, beans, etc., but we will also have the not so normal items such as kohlrabi, turnips, bok choy, patty pan squash, and other odd varieties you won’t find at the grocery store. We will try to have at least 5-9 different items each week for you to choose from. If you have any special requests, please let us know early so we can get plants or seeds started early.
Please note:
We will do our best to have the widest variety of vegetables and herbs as we can, however, there will always be uncertainty in the agriculture process. Mother Nature is a tough person to work with sometimes, and she may get the best of us. We are at natures mercy and as you know West Tennessee weather is not always a farmers friend. While we will try our best to provide you the widest selection, we may have to substitute with another local farmers items when nature gets the best of us. If this occurs, we will ALWAYS let you know where these items come from and will NOT sell them as “ours”.

Hi,
I am looking at protentional CSA farms that are near to me. I live in north east Franklin Co, just a mile from the Scott Co line. I working during the week in the southern part of Franklin Co and normally on the weekends we are busy doing our own farm chores. (We have a hobby farm on a ridgetop). I don’t mind running on a Saturday morning to pick up vegetables but am trying to find one close to the Stamping Ground area so I am not burning up my valuable weekend time. I could not find your farms actual location other than it is in Scott Co according to the KY Proud CSA map. Thanks
